Gospel Singles 2011

Mila Christian, ex Hillsong Guitarist rising to the top with his vision of Paradise!

Mila Christian is a Lead Guitarist and Vocalist who previously played guitar in the Hillsong worship band (2008 and 2009). Never imagining that he would one day be a singer or recording artist, Mila initially concentrated on developing his skills as guitarist and became known as a local guitar virtuoso in and around Cape Town.

Upon accepting an invitation to lead worship, including lead vocals, at a Church Service in Cape Town one Sunday in early 2010 and receiving very favourable comments afterwards, Mila decided to record some of his own music and to do all guitars and vocals on the recordings, a move which proved spectacularly successful! When Mila released his Debut Album titled “On This Rock” the first single “Eden” proved instantly popular, reaching the No 1 postion on the ReverbNation Charts within the first week of release! Eden is a song which is clearly reminiscent of, if not directly inspired by, William Blake’s “Paradise Lost”, as appears from the first verse especially: “Walk through the Garden before the night can cast a Spell, I heard Your Footsteps long before a place called Hell, And only Blue Skies before we knew the sound of Rain, Joy and Laughter long before a cry of Pain, Eden oh Eden!

Mila’s unique Guitar style combines the influences of American Blues (Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry) and modern Gospel (Hillsong) with added hints of Pink Floyd and combined with the golden tone of his vocals it has secured him a substantial and predominantly female fanbase.

With his Album “On this Rock” to be released internationally in 2011 Mila Christian might well become one of our Country’s finest Music Exports.
